Jon Paul (my french speaking son)
Jonathan has been stationed now in Okinawa, Japan after having
been in Altus, OK
and Balad Air Base, Iraq
.
He loves the place and it is one reason why, when his cousin Ben told him about
it, he joined the Air Force.

2005: He worked
at a CVS store (most recently he was promoted
to shift supervisor at Montgomery's newest and biggest store), and he
has
car troubles because he drives like me and has fast and furious car fever. He
works for his car and the insurance company. Jonathan gets all kind of good
reports from people he helps at work and he has a great and kind heart.
He will go far in some kind of people related career because he's very easy to
like. He is unusually thoughtful, especially considering he's just 19.
Jon says he wants to sing and I believe he can. He says he wants to sing a song by
Ryan Cabrerra called On The Way Down and an old Animals song named
Don't Let Me Be Misunderstood. I believe him.
Anyone that Jonathan loves is loved deeply, truly, and sincerely. I'm proud to
be his father.
April 16, 2006 Jonathan is
going into the Air Force. He sees it as a way to make significant progress in
his life and, because of his attitude, I expect it will turn out that way. Basic
training begins July 24, 2006 and I'm sure he will do it as well as it can be
done. They are getting much more than they are paying for - or expecting. He will
change lives wherever he goes. His presence requires others to look up and
outside their own life. They who are able to see things as simply and easily as
Jonathan does will benefit greatly.
September 8 Jon has
graduated from basic training with the U.S. Air Force. I am
very proud of him for taking the hard step of making a major move to
upgrade his career, education, and life. They will benefit greatly
from his effort, his standards, and his attitude. He has chosen the
field of mental health services and will pursue criminal justice and
psychology with the education they have offered him. This is where I
am thinking my federal taxes are going and it doesn't hurt so bad.
October 16, 2006
Jon is in tech school at Sheppard AFB in
Texas. School was delayed so, while he was waiting to begin his job with the Air
Force in Mental Health Services, he decided to volunteer for anything that came
up. As a result, he has been given a prestigious (among new airmen) job as
airman mentor of his squadron. New arrivals are coached by Jonathan in how to
get ahead and affect the other airmen and officers in a positive, beneficial
way. ALSO, he has earned a 'white rope' for his uniform because of volunteer
work and all of this together is making him more and more valuable to them. He
says it will earn him quicker promotions and, in turn, higher pay. It appears
they are recognizing him to be the good person he is. I'm thankful.
